Tambang bas naik - RapidKL fares to go up

KUALA LUMPUR (May 28, 2008):

RapidKL fares are expected to go up with the government’s proposal to drop subsidy for the company with immediate effect to save taxpayers' money. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak said a meeting of the cabinet committee on public transportation, which he chaired today, has decided that RapidKL, which is a government-linked company, will not charge a subsidised rate. This means that it will have to compete on a level playing field with other private companies which had hitherto been unable to compete on fare because they do not enjoy an element of subsidy.

"We will take this move immediately and study how the existence of RapidKL could complement the businesses of other local bus companies," Najib said after chairing the committee meeting in Parliament.
Najib said the committee has considered complaints by bus companies, especially in the (KL) Federal Terrritory, on RapidKL's operation. Asked whether this means the fares for RapidKL will be increased, he said: "There will be some adjustments. Meaning, it would not be fair for us to use taxpayers money to subsidise RapidKL."

While stressing that a reasonable amount of money is involved in the subsidy, he said the decision was part of the government’s efforts to streamline its policy towards subsidy but more so in this case, the government does not want RapidKL to "kill" other bus companies. "Local companies are dying. They are going bankrupt actually. And we are using public money. And the effect of using public money is that local companies are going bankrupt. So, there is a moral principle there which is not right," he added. When told that RapidKL is mostly used by those in the lower-income group, Najib said: "There would be slight adjustments, but we are saving on taxpayers' money," adding the government will announce later how the adjustments will be done.

Asked whether this would result in an increase in the fares of public transport, Najib said the committee has discussed and looked into it and assured that the interest of the lower-income group will be protected.

Aiyoooooo..mati la. Tambang sudah naik....of all the subsidy, why must tarik the public transport punya.......tren udah buruk, bas tadak ikut jadual.........die lorrr

Islam Hadhari ? Buying it?

Fair enough, niat nak perkenal konsep Islam Hadhari ni memang baik. Aku respek tujuan tu. But.........in the true "mostly Malaysian style" the concept is creating more embarassment then achievement.

I was watching this siri on TV3. Titlenya Sindarella... apa kemendanya la. Macam takde idea. Seeing all the adegan man and woman in a room together, memadu kasih lah konon...Islam apa tu? MEMALUKAN...............MEMALUKAN

AF yang keberapa entah yang baru habis....if you recall, only Stacy thanked to he God for her success.

Pegi Bukit Bintang and KLCC ever the weekend and observe all those kekasih2. Almost all of them are Muslims, wearing tudung, yet still showing off the body shape with those tight t-shirt.

All in all....I guess this Islam Hadhari thing kena scrap la

Cabinet committee to discuss public transport policyTan Yi Liang

PETALING JAYA (May 26, 2008): The Cabinet Committee on Public Transport will meet for the first time on Wedneday (May 28) with a public transport policy on the agenda.

Wallaaaaauuuuu.........can you believe this? When the petrol price went up couple of years ago, all of us were taken for a jolly monkey ride believing the public transport will be improve. With soooooooooooo many experts giving sooooooooooo many opinions of soooooooooo many ways to solve the issues and sooooooooooo as it is, it got worst I guessed? Don't believe? Check out the check in/out gate in LRT stations with increasing numbers of handwritten rules of of which card to insert, feeder busses that make their own schedule rules, leaking aircond in the so-called newly acquired busses, biadap and sombong driver and the guard at the stations.

The donkey part of this issue is that we still have politicians / ministers and experts who keep making a parrots out of themselves by saying the same ol' stuff all over again.

Rapid KL dah memang kronik

Something gotta be done with them. Not just the busess and trains, but also the staff. Rude, inconsiderate, stupid, idiotic, arrogant and have no respect for their rice bowl - almost everyone.

I was at the KLIAs morning sending a dear friend for an international flight. I took the ERL to go back to KL and guess what? I was about to pay for my latter when I realised I left my hp in the train. With just a call, a lady answered it and verifying myself as the owner. She even asked me to stay at Starbucks as sh will send the hp to me. Thank you ERL, thank you

Rapid "da Shit" KL

Sorry for the rather harsh words, but seriously, the entire organisation needs some hard and hot burning!!! A dirty station, elevator tak boleh pakai, train lantai dah reput, busess that never ikut schedule and the best of all, staff that have no shame and guilt of being inefficient, lazy and rude.

Take a ride from Taman Bahagia up KL Sentral and you know why. Some high-flying politician said Malaysian is demanding too much. Well, maybe if we could just put any of his pregnant female family member and ask them to take a ride as we do daily.

Talk about improving the public transport.........WELL.........................so full of shit!!!

A new journey

Never in my life that I thought I could work among some of the most caring and kind-hearted human beings with so much passion in their works. To all my new family in MERCY Malaysia, I am honoured and humbled to be accepted into the organisation.

On top of that, I have found a new passion and meaning for life. I have found the right reason to live and to take responsibility. I am feeling more happy than I could remember for a very long long time. I am thankful to Allah for opening my heart to the teaching and values of Islam. I am taking a new journey. How it will end up? I'm only praying for the best.
